What we collect

To build an itinerary we use the trip details you type into the planner: countries and cities, dates, budget and currency, interests, travel style and pace, food preferences, comfort needs, number of travellers and nationalities, and anything you add in the free-text boxes. You do not need an account to use TripRai.

We also count clicks on booking buttons and the number of trips planned, anonymously (no cookies and no personal data), to understand which features are useful.

How we use it

Your trip details are sent to an AI model so it can write your day-by-day plan. We also keep a simple daily count of how many plans a visitor has generated, using a cookie and a one-way code made from the network address (the address itself is never stored), so we can apply fair-use limits. When a plan fails we record why (for example “the AI service was busy”), never your trip details. We do not sell your information or use it for advertising.

Route lookups

When route lookups are enabled, place coordinates, travel mode and a planning date/time are sent to Google Maps to estimate travel. We do not send your free-text notes or personal contact details with these lookups. See Google Privacy Policy. Provider route responses are temporary and excluded from saved shared itineraries; those views use qualified distance estimates.

What we store

Your answers stay in your browser session while you plan. If you press Share, that itinerary and the trip details behind it are saved so the link keeps working, and anyone with the link can view it — so only share it with people you trust. Feedback you send (a star rating and optional comment) is stored so we can improve the product. Each plan you make is also kept with its trip details (dates, places, food, pace and any notes you provided) under a short plan reference, so that if a plan has a mistake we can check that exact plan and fix it. Records older than 30 days are removed during the next successful plan-save cleanup; deletion is not scheduled for an exact time. Avoid putting names, email addresses or sensitive details in notes.

Booking partners and cookies

TripRai is free to use: when you book through a partner link (flights, hotels, activities, transfers, eSIMs, insurance), the partner may pay us a commission, at no extra cost to you. To credit those bookings we use two partner services: Travelpayouts (for partners such as Aviasales and Klook) and Stay22 (which turns plain links to sites such as Booking.com, Agoda and GetYourGuide into partner links). Their scripts can set cookies and see which partner links you click.

These scripts load only if you choose “Allow” in the cookie notice. With “Only essential”, TripRai works the same and the booking buttons still open the partner sites; those sites then use their own cookies under their own policies. Our own cookie (the daily fair-use count above) is needed for the service and is always used.

Your choices

Avoid entering sensitive personal information in the free-text boxes. If you would like a shared itinerary or a piece of feedback removed, contact us with the link and we will delete it.
