Questions
Do I need a travel adapter for Pakistan?
Usually not: Indian plugs fit most sockets in Pakistan (Type C/D). A universal adapter is still handy for the odd socket that differs.
What is the weather like in Lahore through the year?
Roughly: January: cold (under ~12°C); February: cool (~12–20°C); March: warm (~25–32°C); April–June: hot (over ~32°C); July–October: warm (~25–32°C); November: mild (~18–25°C); December: cold (under ~12°C). October to March for Lahore and Islamabad, and May to October for the northern mountains (Hunza, Skardu).
When is the rainy season in Pakistan?
Roughly July and August (it varies by region). In those months pack a compact umbrella, a raincoat or poncho and a waterproof pouch for your phone and papers.
Which money should I carry to Pakistan?
A forex card and some cash in PKR for small shops, markets and tips.
What should I wear to religious sites in Pakistan?
Clothes that cover shoulders and knees. Shoes may come off inside, so socks that are easy to take off help. At mosques, cover your head with a scarf or cap. On the sample itinerary: Day 2 Badshahi Mosque, Day 2 Wazir Khan Mosque in the Walled City, Day 4 Faisal Mosque.
How do vegetarian, Jain or vegan travellers manage food in Pakistan?
Food is halal throughout. Vegetarians can ask for daal, chana, sabzi and paratha; Lahore's food streets also have plenty of meat-free snacks. TripRai plans every meal of a trip around what you eat.
